The Curve
I wrote this story about the strange places grief can take us when something has been left unfinished.
Loss doesn’t always move in a straight line. Sometimes it loops. Sometimes it holds us in place, quietly repeating the same moment until we understand what we’ve been carrying.
Bonnie isn’t just lost on a road—she’s caught in something unresolved. A small thing, easily justified, quietly held onto. But grief has a way of asking for balance. For truth. For things to be returned and names to be spoken properly.
This story explores the idea that we don’t always get to move forward just because we want to. Sometimes we have to set something right first.
And sometimes, the way out… is not forward at all.
